Hello everyone! Today I am going to be doing a book tag! Now, if you are not sure what a book tag is, it is a series of questions that correspond with a type of book and the doer of the tag (today that is me) has to fill in the blanks and show off what book they thinks fits best. And remember, this is all purely for fun!
For those of you who are familiar with book tags, and I assume most of you are, you have probably seen this tag going around booktube. (booktube is basically youtube for book lovers). I know that this tag went around a while ago, but I still wanted to do it. And since I’m not a video maker I thought that I would turn it into a blog post!
So without further ado, let’s get this T Swift party started!
1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
(A book or series that you were pretty sure that you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with)
For me this is going to have to be The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I started this series thinking I would just love it to the moon and back, but I didn’t. I thought that it was the one, but now we are done. For, like, ever.
(Pick a book with red on the cover)
Wow, that was hard…because NO books have red on the cover! (sarcasm doesn’t work over the internet) For this one I am going with Frostfire by Amanda Hocking. This cover is so gorgeous and even though the entire cover isn’t red, that coat is stunning.
3. The Best Day
(Pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic)
For me this has to be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I didn’t grow up with Harry, but when I read these books for the first time last summer, I remember laying in the tent I had set up on my back deck and reading the dusty thrift store monster of a copy of Goblet of Fire. So now when I think of summer that is the first thing to pop into my head.
4. Love Story
(Pick a book with forbidden love)
For this I am choosing The Selection by Kiera Cass. While the forbidden romance doesn’t really come that hugely into play in the middle of the book, it is in the beginning and the end. And I have a feeling that it will be quite a huge deal in the second book.
5. I Knew You Were Trouble
(Pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love)
Hmm…this one was tricky. I don’t usually like the bad characters, but I guess Severus Snape from the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling. And I’ll be honest. He creeped me out until farther into the series. Because you never know what side he is on. But he is one of my favorites, if not my number one favorite, dark character. All of JK Rowling’s characters are so rich and have so many layers that even though you hate these characters and what they are doing, you understand them. You understand their story. And so while I hate the things that Snape did, his character is amazing. (But especially in Half Blood Prince he creeped me out)
(Pick a book that somebody ruined the end for)
Wellllll, I have a tendency to get spoiled a lot. But for this I am going to have to go with The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. The thing that happens at the end, got spoiled. For me, however, getting spoiled doesn’t really ruin the ending. I mean, the raw shock is gone, but I never know exactly how it happens until I read the book. So, even though spoiling is a little upsetting (upset levels depend on the book) most of the time, it doesn’t really ruin the book.
7. Everything Has Changed
(Pick a character who goes through extensive character development)
For this I am going to have to go with Death from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Death starts the book with a sense of dark, cold humor, and ends with having a very deep and poetic heart.
8. You Belong With Me (my favorite T Swift song!)
(Pick your most anticipated book release)
I can’t decide between Hello, Goodbye, And Everything In Between by Jennifer E Smith, and The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan. I am so excited for both of these that I could just explode. Two of my favorite authors. The only problem I have with these is that they DON’T COME OUT TIL FALL!!! I don’t know if I can make it any longer.
9. Forever and Always
(Pick your favorite book couple)
PERCABETH PERCABETH PERCABETH PERCABETH PERCABETH PERCABETH PERCABETH
10. Come Back, Be Here
(Pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much)
Umm, that would be ALL OF THEM! But if I had to choose one it would probably be my paperback of Divergent by Veronica Roth. Which is the copy of the book that made me a reader, so that book stays with me at all times. Mwahaha.
BONUS QUESTIONS! Added by Kat from Katytastic!
11. Teardrops On My Guitar
(Pick a book that made you cry a lot)
For this I am going with The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Every time I even thought about this book for a week after finishing it I would tear up.
12. Shake it Off
(Pick a book that you love so much, you just shake off the haters)
For this I have to say Allegiant by Veronica Roth. I know that a lot of people don’t really like this book or the way it ended. But I thought that it was perfect! And I will love it for ever and ever.
Thank you so much for reading this tag! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I loved doing it! Thank you to The Book Life for making such an awesome T Swift tag! Also a thank you to Kat for adding the questions at the end!
If this looks like fun to you, you should totally leave your answers in the comments!
I would love to see what you would say for these questions!
See ya later!
