Hello everybody! Today I am going to be doing yet another installment in my quote saga! You can find the other three installments here:
Today’s installment feature my top 10 cry-worthy quotes from Markus Zusak! His writing is beautiful and The Book Thief (his only book that I have read) is like one giant quote. The whole book is just as beautiful as he is.
Please Note: I give full credit to the author of these quotes, and while I have read the book that these quotes are from I found these on Goodreads for the sake of this post. These are just my opinion and this is meant to be just for fun. Thank you. 🙂 They are in no specific order.
Without further ado let’s get this Book Thief party started!
“I have hated words, and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.”
“Like most misery, it started with apparent happiness.”
“Imagine smiling after a slap in the face. Then think of doing it twenty-four hours a day.”
“If only she could be oblivious again, to feel such love without knowing it, mistaking it for laughter.”
“I have to say that although it broke my heart, I was, and still am, glad I was there.”
“One was a book thief. The other stole the sky.”
“It kills me sometimes, how people die.”
“I am haunted by humans.”
“My heart is so tired.”
“She took a step and didn’t want to take any more, but she did.”
Well, those are all the quotes I have for you today! If you haven’t read The Book Thief yet, go check it out! I don’t really read or like a lot of historical fiction novels, but this book just kills me every time! It is so beautiful and the theme is very important. I highly recommend to any and all who can handle the war setting. (I hardly could, but Zusak’s writing made up for the terrifying parts.)
I hope you enjoyed these quotes! Let me know in the comments if you’ve read The Book Thief! What are your thoughts on it? What about these quotes? Do you have any to add to the list? Please tell me down in the comments! I would love to hear from you!
I will have another post up soon!
